Our Firm

The Law Firm of Sacharin, Kirkscey & Flexsenhar specializes in the matters of retail collections, evictions, real estate, foreclosures, juvenile court, divorce, custody, family law and family law mediation. The firm was started in 1973 and is now the oldest debt collection and landlord/tenant law firm in Memphis. The original partners, David Kirkscey and Jon Sacharin, co-wrote two sections of the Tennessee Residential Landlord Tenant Act.

Attorney Jon Sacharin passed away in 1990 and Attorney Michael Flexsenhar, Jr. joined the firm, becoming partner in 2001. In addition to our convenient Mud Island office, we are able to meet with clients nearer to home or office by appointment.

Practice Areas Include:

  • Retail Debt Collections: We represent banks, collection companies, finance companies, bonding companies and etc. regarding collection of delinquent notes and contract payments, repossessions and replevins for personal property.

  • Evictions (Forcible Entry and Detainer actions): We represent landlords, apartment complexes and real estate management companies to regain possession of leased property and collection of past-due rent and late fees.

  • Family Law & Custody: This area includes divorce, custody, parenting plans and child support matters in Circuit and Chancery Courts in Shelby, Tipton and Fayette Counties.

  • Juvenile Court Matters: This area includes child support, visitation, custody matters and actions to establish parentage and paternity in Juvenile Court in Shelby, Tipton and Fayette Counties.

  • Family Law Mediation: Service Our office mediates all issues contained in Family Law and Juvenile Court areas above.

  • Foreclosures: We represent banks and mortgage companies.

  • Residential Real Estate Closings: Representing buyers/sellers at the close of escrow.
